aluminium hinges

Specialist cabinets deserve specialist hinges like these new T5 aluminium profile items in a classic “piano-style” of 60mm, 90mm or 120mm length with spring-assisted operation, which comes in three different levels of force rating.

Clear or black anodized finishes suit industry, office or specialist vehicle situations, or other general environments where their design aesthetic suits the installation. Fixing is by means of 3.5mm dia. pre-drilled holes.

These new PINET 30mm aluminium hinges  are for use as pairs or together with a matching friction, detent or spring hinge to modify door opening characteristics. Construction is in clear or black anodized aluminium with robust plastic hinge pin to resist corrosion.

The matching soft-close hinge offers controlled closure in three configurations with two different torque damping settings, making them suitable for many types of enclosure, cabinet and cupboard from factory floor to domestic furniture.

The new FinAlu® lightweight range of PINET hinges which we launched recently provide light and tough service in applications such as medical equipment, electronic enclosures, food equipment, vehicle cabinets and other high-performing situations.

The team here at FDB Panel Fittings envisage these hinges being used on small boxes, enclosures and cabinets where good-looking industrial quality hinges are required for long-term service with light weight as a primary requirement.

The FinAlu® series feature stainless steel pins for longevity and smooth operation while weighing in at only 5, 9 or 15 grams for 38, 50 and 63.5mm (aircraft industry) sizes, with exceptionally thin section flaps of 1.3mm which open 270°.

A hinge by any other name is not quite what one may expect – as it turns out. We are delighted that our online shop now includes a selection of spring hinges, friction hinges and torque hinges for the many and extensive specialist enclosures and panels used in industrial and office furniture applications.

Spring hinges in aluminium provide spring return with a stainless steel spring and an anodised finish in clear or black, while friction hinges offer an adjustable resistance which retains the door or panel in the desired position – friction is adjustable by hex key. Raw aluminium, clear or black anodised finishes are offered, along with screw or stud fixing.

Alternatively, stainless steel torque hinges offer a robust corrosion resistant solution to holding a lid or door in the desired position.

All specialist industrial hinges are now available at the online shop in a range of sizes. www.fdbonline.co.uk.
