Quarter turn locks are a common mainstay of enclosure hardware but it can often be difficult to match the length of a lock with the depth of the door to frame gap. We have made this much simpler by offering a wide range of standard bodies at our Online store. This enables customers to simply select the components required to create the lock configuration of their choice.
As a further aid to specification we have supported this with our Rocfast lock assembly and logistics service which matches lock bodies in black or chrome, selected from the Online range together with lock cylinders or inserts and cams plus back nuts to deliver as a complete assembly. Where necessary our expert team can offer advice regarding specification, then organize, assemble, package and dispatch to the customer’s panel production unit or installation site on a worldwide basis.
L and T handles are still a great choice for a cabinet handles – especially where there is plenty of space for people to pass or where their extra convenience is valued – or where it is important to match an existing installation.
Swinghandles on the other hand are preferable where passageways are narrow so that clothes do not catch, or where transit damage needs to be avoided – they are probably more modern and offer lots of useful options. These days both types are available in polyamide, zinc die or stainless steel – so the choice is open – it is a question of style and space.

Polyamide hinges are available ex-stock to suit a range of applications – they feature versions with semi-concealed design, lift off, flame retardant and detent features – as well as a pin hinge for light duty side panels. These polyamide hinges offer a low cost solution to closure of many enclosure doors.

This convenient wing handle or wing knob design facilitates improved manual operation on small, e.g. wall mounting enclosures, or may be used in pairs for larger cabinet doors in place of a more complex rod lock system.
Ex-stock availability and rapid delivery cover the zinc die units in chrome or black finish, as well as the stainless steel variants in both standard and mini sizes. These AISI 316 items provide protection up to IP65 and are suited to outdoor or arduous environments.
We have a fine range of standard closed cell sponge rubber gasket seals – an approach which never seems to go out of fashion for use on enclosure and cabinet doors as well as for visual inspection panels and so forth. These non-stretch sections of closed cell neoprene and EPDM are non stretch by virtue of their self – adhesive backing. Sizes are available from 10×3 mm up to 20×5 mm in coil format for easy handling and storage in assembly areas.
Skin finished foam strip for use with separate adhesive is also available.
We have recently announced the new Dirak Hinged Recessed Handle intended for use in special applications such as the construction of specialist road and rail vehicles, e.g. on storage lockers and access panels where its vibration proof construction guards against nuisance opening. It is especially suited to these applications because it offers a very low profile with fully recessed oval handle which is self-returning to its recessed position after use.
This spring return feature ensures that the handle does not protrude and so eliminates the risk of persons or clothing being caught on the handle. The use of high accuracy zinc die casting ensures very close joins which also prevent the build-up of dirt.
