We are delighted that over many years we have accumulated a wide range of ex-stock stainless steel hinges to accommodate the many types of cabinet that may be demanded of  specialist builders for light industrial purposes – in offices or on a workshop or warehouse floor.

These range from weld on bullet hinges and simple lift off removable pin types to sophisticated parallelogram and friction torque designs.

A new enclosure handle in traditional L format is an unusual event, so this latest DIRAK offering from FDB Panel Fittings is to be welcomed as it brings the concept up to date by incorporating many features in one simple product. Easy and precise height adjustment of the latching cam enables correct fitment with square threaded rod to engage single or 3-point cams. Stainless steel construction with mirror finish provides corrosion resistance and robust service life. IP65 sealing allows for use in indoor or outdoor environments and the concealed padlock feature enables secure closure in all situations.

Gary Miles, M.D. at FDB Panel Fittings explains that “in order to be able to use the L-handle for padlocking in a more versatile manner and to increase both the flexibility as well as the operating comfort, DIRAK have been able to expand the previous properties with a specific benefit. As of now, we offer a new L-handle for padlock with a square threaded rod. This enables a precise adaptation of the height adjustment of cams with variably adjustable catches for standard cams.”

Standard fitment is with rear mounted nut and screw or 5mm dia. carriage bolts through the escutcheon.

The growth in availability of stainless steel hardware over recent years has allowed panel builders and installers to upgrade their specifications with more rugged components and with higher levels of IP sealing. Nowhere is this more true than with cabinet or enclosure handles such as those we carry in stock, which include specialist hygiene rated items for food etc wash down areas. Suitable also for other applications requiring IPs up to 67 and with compression technology for vibration resistance and increased gasket pull down they offer especially smooth styling and high performance.

We are pleased to announce the latest updated version of DIRAK’s lift-off corner hinge for surface mounted doors. This traditional “bullet” design is aesthetically compatible with general industrial/office cabinet environments and incorporates a Teflon load-bearing washer which provides a reliable, durable, smooth action.

The size and weight carrying capacity of these hinges suits small wall mount to large free standing enclosures/cabinets when used in pairs or for multiple fitment e.g. three or four may be used per door as needed to accommodate larger doors.

Design of these hinges features fitting by screws from the reverse which aids security – with construction in rugged zinc-die with chrome, black powder coat or self-colour finishes.

The new DIRAK hygiene quarter-turn latch meets hygiene requirements according to DIN EN ISO 14159 and DIN EN  1672-2 offering an easy to clean IP65/IP67/69K sealing performance according to DIN EN 60529/DIN40050 using coloured O-rings (FDA conform) which prevent accumulation of dirt deposits and penetration of liquids under pressure wash conditions.

These quarter turn hygiene latches with SW13 security inserts are now available with Red or Blue O-rings to suit FDA colour coding for food and other internal processing areas, where they are resistant to dirt and easy to clean by virtue of their polished surfaces and smooth transition radii.

Construction is in AISI 316 stainless steel with food grade plastic O-rings for sealing and identification – mounting may be right hand/left hand – grounding is achieved by an integral grounding nut.

This new DIRAK rod latch kit makes short work of installing a multi-point rod lock door closing mechanism, together with a standard quarter-turn latch, offering 2 or 3 point gasket pull-down for medium to large enclosure doors. The simple clip-and-cam fit operation suits dual round or flat rods mounted within the gasket sealed area – or externally.

The new rod latch mechanism offers a high level of closing convenience and strength in just one closing process.
