Mounting can be at the top of a door or at the base – for horizontal lids mounting is at the sides. Stays with positive stops are used where the door is to be held open for an extended period while work is carried out – whereas a simple extension stop is useful for doors in windy conditions or to restrict the momentum of heavy doors so that they do not damage their hinges or adjacent panels.

This IP65 wing handle is a pre-assembled quarter-turn latch in AISI 316 stainless steel, designed to accept a standard padlock for enclosure security.

It is suited for outdoor applications where a padlock can provide a good level of security and perhaps convenient digital code locking, while the IP65 latch ensures suitable closure. Applications include wall mounted enclosures and small cabinets in a wide range of industrial situations.

Quarter-turn latches are ubiquitous on industrial cabinets and enclosures, often with insert keys for low level security purposes. We are delighted to offer an extensive range of these latches and matching keys.

Many types are available, such as the double-bit, female square, male square, hexagonal, triangular, Daimler Benz, Crown type and Crescent Czech. These keys are produced in hard wearing zinc-die or black polyamide and may be provided with customer logo for batch quantities. Our 207-9295 stainless steel swinghandle (AISI 316) offers rugged cabinet access security with IP65 level dust and water protection and includes an additional dust cover to protect the cylinder lock. This stainless steel swinghandle is suitable for arduous external application in typical industrial environments.

40mm cylinder locks with profile keys or with inserts may be fitted to suit the application which can be either for single point 90° closure or for multi-point closure with a rod locking mechanism also available. The sister version 107-9295 may also be fitted with a padlock device for further security.

Often it seems the unsung heroes of cabinet locking are the rods and rod guides which actuate the locking mechanism to ensure multi-point closure and gasket pull down – these are the components which ensure closure and sealing of large cabinet doors, and which connect to the lock and facilitate secure access control.

Here at FDB Panel Fittings we have a wide stock of standard round rod styles and lengths in stock – available from our Online store – which are compatible with our Swinghandles and quarter turn latch locks. We also have stainless steel round and flat rods for where that added robustness or corrosion resistance is required.

Our FDB11 is a general purpose RCD panel unit providing overload and short circuit protection for industrial, academic, institutional and corporate applications. Installation is quick and easy with the FDB11 housed in a sheet metal enclosure.

Three enclosure sizes of FDB11 are available, 10 to 32 amp, 40 to 63 amp and 80 to 100 amp, conforming to BS4293 and BSEN60898.

In addition the FDB11 has been developed for specialist use to protect against induced DC current which can otherwise cause nuisance tripping in AC equipment adjacent to high voltage DC lines on railways. This is important in nearby offices, retail outlets and café/restaurants for example. The FDB11 is approved by Network Rail for these situations.
