The task of joining metal panels while creating an earth point is made easier with the DIRAK grounding cage nut from FDB Panel Fittings which is designed especially for use in electronic equipment, 19” racks, server cabinets and similar.
It enables quick, simple joining of panels and creates a stable grounding screw point. Manual insertion of the polyamide cage nut is achieved through pre-punched holes and a tight join is ensured with high pressure teeth which break the panel coating.
The grounding cage nut (M6) may be included in its square cutout from front or rear without damage to the frame. Screw tightening from 3 to 8 Nm is achievable with a clamping range of from 1.0 to 4.0mm sheet thickness. An installation and operation video of the grounding cage nut can be viewed at www.fdb.co.uk/grounding-cage-nut.
We recently launched new 125° opening hinges from PINET in stainless steel and aluminium construction for industrial/office/domestic enclosures, cabinets and cupboards where their parallel link design offers a comfortable feel. Available in 2 versions – 3639 with pins in 430 stainless steel and the 3640 variant with 304 Cu stainless pins.
Their 125° opening ensures easy access even with narrow door openings, thus allowing materials and equipment to be easily installed internally or removed for service or upgrades.
These hinges are designed for nested or surface-mounted doors either LH or RH and with horizontal or vertical orientation. The optimum opening angle of 125° is achieved with 2mm doors and reduces to 100° with 13mm thickness.
New from our Online store are the PINET 90° opening stainless steel and steel hinges for concealed installation – with two options available, the 3520 with pins and links in 430 stainless and the 3625 in 316L stainless.
The new design offers tough corrosion-resistant parallel link functionality for nested or surface-mount doors – LH or RH in horizontal or vertical installation. These compact hinges are suitable for steel or wood/composite doors and enable easy opening in industrial or office/domestic cupboards, cabinets and enclosures.
We are delighted to find that our FDB11 series – which incorporates DC immune RCBO protection for specialist railway installations – and many other varients for other industrial situations – continues to meet customer’s needs. Not only does the FDB11 series meet new build installation requirements but we continue to meet the needs of upgrade projects and refurbishments where earlier generations of this series were installed many years ago and need to be extended or replaced.

We are delighted to launch this new DIRAK slam latch for sliding doors and panels. Designed especially for the broad range of industry, light commercial and high-quality residential sliding doors that are widely used on specialist vehicles, caravans, motorhomes, railways, office cabinets, domestic light doors, cupboards and storage units.
The DIRAK team explain that “locking systems for sliding doors must meet several requirements like durability, smooth operation and convenience. Our challenge was to match these attributes precisely and to design the latch so that it is visibly appealing as well as lockable.”
This new development in slam lock design offers convenience and reliability with oblong mounting holes which make it possible to use aluminium profiles of different profile widths and may also be used for adjustment. A sufficiently large rear grip makes it easy to open the door simply by pulling on the handle – the design makes it easy to close the door by sliding shut. Plus, lockable versions are optionally available keyed alike or keyed different. Available from our Online store here.
We are pleased to offer a wide range of handles (locking and non-locking) in zinc diecast, polyamide or stainless steel, including swing handles, lever and tee handles and wing handles – also a selection of bridge handles in various materials.
This new DIRAK compression latch meets the common need for a flush latch with compression/anti-vibration characteristics often found in rail transport, HVAC and furniture applications. The 7-086 and 7-087 provide discrete closure with visual indicator.
Both variants offer 6mm of gasket compression in a corrosion-resistant stainless steel mechanism which accommodates 1.8 to 22mm thickness doors dependent on choice of two housing lengths. This permits use of doors in steel, wood, fiberglass, synthetics and compound sandwich materials to match the style of panelling or other decorative features.
The 7-086 allows for cam depth adjustment by use of selected cranked cams, whereas notably the 7-087 provides for additional depth adjustment of the tab by virtue of a toolless knurled knob on a threaded shaft enabling cam adjustment to accommodate especially deep frames.
Inserts may be selected from all common options including square, triangular, double bar, conical square, in various sizes to suit corporate convention.
