These novel EMKA 1042/3 two stage hinges provide a full 180° door opening for removable flush doors on large or small cabinets, with two sizes to suit industrial enclosures and electrical housings.

The 1042/3 hinges provide this unusual facility for flush doors and are concealed within the cabinet using internal weld-on mounting, which combined with a flush/insert door design minimises opportunities for vandal attack while presenting a smooth aesthetic appearance. They enable simple door demounting by virtue of their easily removed hinge pins. Each hinge also has a second spring loaded hinge pin – once the door has been opened 90° it may then be opened a further 90° using the second pivot point.

We have recently introduced EMKA 1110 polyamide hinges to our range. These 180° quick fit hinges permit rapid door mounting and demount by use of a removable hinge pin which also locks the hinge into place. They are considered suitable for batch or continuous production of specialist enclosures.

1110 hinges are available to suit 16mm or 25mm flange returns on lay-on cabinet door designs which require only a very simple cut out to enable instant positioning of the door component. The frame half of the hinge uses a simple screw/nut assembly which when used with 2D nuts further permits detailed door alignment.

This range of heavy duty electrical protection units is designed to overcome inherent earth leakage or inrush currents. The FDB 19 combines a variable sensitivity and time delay RCD together with a triple pole MCCB (minimum I SKA) to provide overcurrent and short circuit protection.

Installation of the FDB 19 is recommended to achieve the optimum level of protection without the inconvenience of spurious tripping. Numerous applications throughout industry from construction sites, mines and quarries to mobile plant and cranes and for the protection of stage lighting systems where thyristor spikes can trip conventional RCD’s. A standard feature of the unit is its non-fail safe operation ideal for primary breaker installations or those that are unmanned or prone to supply interruption. A fail-safe version requiring reset of MCCB on restoration of a supply interruption is also available.

Designed and supplied to the Railway Industry for approaching 50 years, our latest RCBO devices are approved by Network Rail for AC protection of devices in DC electrified areas, e.g. where train supply is by a third rail, the FDB series of DC immune RCBO panels protects personnel associated with ancillary equipment such as video screens and cafeteria equipment – also machinery in engineering/maintenance sheds.

V116 at the forthcoming Southern Manufacturing show at Farnborough – 9-11 Feb – is just the place for us to display the expanded Hygiene family of enclosure hardware products from Dirak with the new  Quarter-Turn HD locks including T- and L- Handle configurations which extend the ease of use and flexibility of cabinet lock design to meet the fundamental principles of hygiene critical applications with sealing protection to IP65/67 and IP69K .

Specific design features begin with well designed geometric shapes, highly polished stainless steel surfaces and all other materials used prevent the build-up of contaminants. The design enables water to run off completely so as to facilitate clean down and prevent bacterial contamination. The high-quality stainless steel (1.4404) guarantees high corrosion and temperature resistance and enabling outdoor application and ensuring that the HD Quarter-Turn, T- and L-Handle are resistant to acid and alkali containing cleaning agents. The HD series also feature a silicone seal approved for food processing use which withstands steam and high-pressure cleaning temperatures from – 60°C to + 200°C, and guarantees freedom from contaminants. This blue sealing gasket meets the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration, and cannot be mistaken for food materials.
